Rosette Icing Design - How To Make

To make rosette icing design, you need to use decorating tip #18.

The opening is shaped like a star. And using this single tip alone, you can create multiple designs.

First of all, the rosette design.

To make this design, you need to hold the piping bag at 90 degrees. Then, squeeze out the icing while moving in a circular motion, until you get to a half round.

Then, release the pressure but do not lift up the piping bag. Lastly, finish the circle and at the end, lift up the bag. This will make the rosette look warped.

Usually this design is used to put decoration on top, like cherries or other sliced fruits. Other than that, it can also be used to make borders around the cake by creating continuous rosettes.
