The List Of Cupcake Decorations Is Endless!

There are many things you could use for cupcake decorations. Some are edible and some are not.

I've put up a list of things you could use to decorate your cupcakes. We'll start with cupcake toppers.

Cupcake Toppers

Cupcake toppers are readily available from the cake store or you can make your own. They are available in all sorts of shapes, including favourite characters. They really make your cupcake decorating easy.

Just place them on top of your cupcake and you won't need much decorating to do. If you don't have time to decorate your cupcakes, cupcake toppers can be your solution.

You can use from edible toppers like sugar toppers and candy toppers to non-edible toppers like plastic toppers and candle toppers.

Cupcake Rings

Cupcake rings are made of plastic and can be bought from the cake decorating store. For decorating method, simply place the ring on a frosted cupcake.

Children love to wear them and lick the cupcakes from their fingers.

Cupcake Picks

Cupcake picks are often made of plastic as well. They come in many themes and fit almost any occassion.

Decorating with them is also easy as you only need to insert the picks into the frosted cupcakes.

Sprinkles

One of the most commonly used cupcake topping. Available in multi-colors, like below...

or just plain chocolate sprinkles. They also come in specialty shapes as well, like stars or hearts. These are called quins.

Dragees

These edible beads can also be used to decorate your cupcake. Because they are shiny, your cupcakes will look more dramatic.

Dessicated Coconut

Grated coconut can be sprinkled over icing on your cupcake for decorating.

However, your cupcake will have a coconut-ty taste when you use it to decorate.

M&M's

These are round chocolate candies. Available in multi-colors like blue, red, yellow, orange, green and chocolate.

You can also use other chocolate candy that you desire.

Jello

Other than chocolate, you can also use jellos. They come in various colors and shapes as well. Matching them to your cupcake design may not be a problem.

Chocolate Chips

Instead of putting chocolate chips into the cupcake recipe, it can also be used as decoration.

It's dark and round shape is very useful for making eyes for animal cupcakes.

Crystal Sugar

Crystal sugar is actually real sugar but colored. They are available in multiple colors, red, blue , yellow, etc.

They are shiny and make a lovely decoration as well.

Nonpareils

Nonpareils are tiny sugar balls, available in various colors. A good decorative item to bring out more colors in cupcakes.
