Basket Icing Design - How To Make

To make the basket icing design, you need to use decorating tip#3 or tip#47.

First, make a few straight lines, equally distanced between one another. Pipe out the icing by controlling the pressure using your hand, and make sure the pressure applied is even.

Then, diagonally from the straight lines, pipe out short lines, alternatively. Squeeze out some icing and lift slightly to ride over the straight lines. Stop squeezing and end by touching down to the surface.

When you are finished, your basket design should look like this.

This design is useful when you want to create a basket on top of your cakes or simply want a weaving effect on your cakes.
